Hollywood, stars, and smiling Daitan!
I love a theme. When I found out that Los Angeles would be location of our third annual OC Partner Awards dinner, only one theme was possible; Hollywood - An Evening With The Star Partners!
The thought of seeing the Hollywood sign, running into a movie star, or taking a selfie with a Kardashian however was not a popular thought. Many of you chose to not make the journey to California. This was an understandable decision as AAO had made getting badges more difficult, our Pinnacle meeting in Poland was just a few weeks away, and the odds of actually meeting Khloe or Kim were pretty low.
With fewer attendees, we decided to make some changes. In a departure from the previous two events, where we held both a partner meeting and an awards dinner, this year we decided to hold just one evening dinner event. We invited some OC celebrities to attend the dinner and make them available to present and answer any questions. While our CEO Alan Kozlowski and Engineering Manager Juergen Bathen may not exactly be “movie star” famous or even “regular star” famous, they still managed to bring some awesome “star power” to the event.
As has become customary, we had a special welcome cocktail and plenty of adult bubbles for the event. To avoid the stage chaos of the previous two events, I was the official host and emcee for the event. There were tears, laughter, handclapping, and more laughter. While comparisons to “A Star is Born” were (probably) made, I couldn’t have done it without our truly outstanding ensemble Marketing team, who put together every detail of the event from graphics to decorations to even picking the menu.
At the end of the evening we announced who would join OrthoGroup and OrtoArea as OC’s next Diamond Award winner. Having swept every category in which they had been nominated, it was no surprise when Daitain from Vietnam took home the top honors. Lien joyously accepted her award with delight and smiles. Welcome to the prestigious club Lien. OC is truly lucky to have you as a partner, and to call you our friend.
